Play at your own comfort

These settings are free. Tempo and method hints are chosen together by both of you in the room.

On this device only, shape, repeats, direction and texture are written next to reaction drawings.

Music starts only with this button; it does not open the microphone. Critical reactions also appear on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Before you enter the lab

Two players, two separate screens and one shared experiment. Here are the answers you are most likely to need before you start.

How many people play EskiLab?

Exactly two. The assistant and the chemist have different tools and different information. There is no single-player mode and no third seat.

Do I need an account to play for free?

No. Open a room with a nickname and play the first three experiments for free. An account is only used to buy the pack and to restore access you already bought.

Can we play from the same computer?

The game is designed for two separate screens. Each of you joins the room from your own browser. A phone and a computer can be mixed; try the free shift first to check compatibility and voice on your particular devices.

Are a camera or microphone required?

No camera is requested. Remote play uses in-game voice and a microphone. Microphone permission is only requested after you press Start the voice connection. Players in the same physical room can pick the same-room option in the lobby.

If the connection drops, is the order lost?

On a technical drop, active risk and the clock switch to a safe wait. Come back with the same browser session and both get ready again. Completed jobs are kept; when the return window runs out, follow the on-screen options to wait, leave safely or restart the order.

Can I switch roles or partners?

You can swap roles together between results. Opening a new room with a new partner does not deliberately reset your progress, but the guest identity is tied to this browser session. Clearing cookies or switching devices can stop you returning as the same guest.

Do both of us need to buy the pack?

No. A single licence sponsor can be either of the two players in the room, and it covers one active paid room. Access depends on a verified account and the server’s licence check. If purchasing is closed, you continue with the free content only.

Are conversations recorded?

EskiLab makes no voice recordings or transcripts. In-game voice travels between the two players over WebRTC; on some networks it may pass through a relay server. Game progress and the necessary session records are separate from voice media.

Do orders have a time limit?

Yes. The order clock starts with your first real action: in the first experiment, the first test or the first drop. Limits are 150, 100 and 180 seconds. If you both choose relaxed tempo, the clock and physics run at half speed.

I cannot see or tell the test drawings apart

Open the Accessibility and sound panel and turn on “Describe drawings in text”. Each drawing then shows its form, repeat count, direction and line style as text. The setting only applies on your device and never reveals the answer.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. The game runs in phone, tablet and computer browsers with nothing to install. Each player uses their own device. Voice needs microphone permission and a secure (HTTPS) connection.

What happens if we get something wrong?

The vessel boils over and an alarm sounds. A three-mark valve order appears in the chemist’s book; the chemist reads it and the assistant enters it. Each attempt has one rescue. A second accident loses the order; you can retry it or move on.
